Ron Hornaday clinched his 21st career pole at Dover International Speedway with a fast-time of 155.541 mph. Earlier this week, Hornaday spoke about his win in Charlotte two weeks ago and how that will affect his momentum heading into Dover. “After a win you always have momentum on your side. Winning gives you the confidence to go into the next race and know that you can make it to victory lane. I have always felt this team thrives off winning.”
Sophomore driver Colin Braun pounded the pavement to earn himself the outside pole. This will be Braun’s 6th top-10 starting position so far this season out of the seven races run. The only place Braun failed to qualify in the top-10 was at Lowe’s Motor Speedway two weeks ago. Brian Scott and Johnny Sauter will start in the third and fourth positions, respectively. Chad McCumbee made a good showing despite the crew member suspension; he will roll off in the fifth position. Terry Cook, Johnny Benson, Todd Bodine, Brian Ickler and Kyle Busch round out the top-10.
