This weekend the Truck Series will duke it out in the ‘Lone Star State’ as the series head to Texas Motor Speedway for the eighth race of the 2009 season.
Chad McCumbee earned a sixth place finish in last year’s event at Texas driving the No. 8 MRD Motorsports Chevrolet. Looking to earn his first win of the season, McCumbee’s No. 07 SS Green Light Racing Chevrolet will carry the colors of tiwi as the brand serves its second consecutive week as primary sponsor of the team.
"We were good in this race last year,” said McCumbee. “The truck wasn't perfect but we got a sixth- place finish out of it. We are going to bring the same truck we finished third at California, sixth at Atlanta and eighth at Kansas with. I feel the SS Green Light team has been working really hard on this truck, and I think my team owner and the guys have found a few things to make it better. I'm hoping to put on a good show for our friends at tiwi Friday night." Currently sitting at the eighth position in the 2009 series point standings, team owner Bobby Dotter is confident that they can reel in an impressive finish. "I really want to thank the people from inthinc for coming on board with us for these races,” noted Dotter. "The guys in the SS Green Light shop have done a great job with this truck and I really feel this week should be our best chance to get up front and have a shot for a win." MORE NASCAR NEWS
