Kicking off the action at Kentucky Speedway, defending polesitter Mike Skinner took his No. 5 Randy Moss Motorsports Toyota to the top of the speed charts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series' first practice session. With a fast lap of 31.603 seconds and a top speed of 170.870 miles per hour, Skinner looks to have found a set-up that might be benificial in Saturday's event.
Brain Scott's efforts earned him the second spot. Zipping around Kentucky in 31.764 seconds and a peak speed of 170.004 miles per hour, Scott is hoping to earn his second career win of the 2009 season.
Posting a lap of 31.781 seconds and a maximum velocity of 169.913 miles per hour was good enough to place Terry Cook on the third position of the practice charts. Timothy Peters and Stacy Compton rounded out the top-5. Colin Braun, Johnny Sauter, Dennis Setzer, Ron Hornaday Jr. and Matt Crafton concluded the top-10.
