Part time NASCAR Camping World Series driver Willie Allen won the ASA race at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in front of a hometown crowd on Sunday afternoon. Allen held off Josh Hamner and Brian Campbell to win his first career ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division event.
"Man it was a great day," Allen said in victory lane. "It is so awesome to win out here in front of the hometown fans."
Allen took the lead on lap 105 and led the final 95 laps on his way to victory. Landon Cassill, who ran several NASCAR Nationwide races in a Hendrick Motorsports car last season, recorded the fastest lap in qualifying and drew the number six for the invert. Cassill was involved in an accident on lap 91 while challenging Brandon Johnson for second place.
