Hardcore race fans will find it easy to spot Chad McCumbee under the lights at Bristol on Wednesday night during the O'Reilly 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.
McCumbee's #07 Chevrolet will be sporting the lime green logo of primary sponsor tiwi along with the bright orange logo of Aerus. “There’s nothing better than a night race at Bristol,” said McCumbee. “And having a car that stands out under the lights is really cool. “Having two companies that are interested in being a part of our team is even cooler because sponsorships are pretty hard to find these days. It’s all about connections and tiwi’s relationship with Aerus, which is located right down the road, made it all possible.”
tiwi is a driver monitoring system that is used in commercial fleets and as a mentoring system for teen drivers. The company is sponsoring McCumbee's team for select events throughout 2009. Aerus is a manufacturer and distributor of home wellness and cleaning equipment and was formerly known as Electrolux from 1924-2003. Aerus is a local company to the Bristol area with more than 100 employees. “Our employees are so excited,” said Aerus CEO Joe Urso. “Chad is going to spend the afternoon with our employees on Tuesday before the race and they get to take pride in the truck on the track the next night with their logo on it. It’s their truck and that goes a long way for employee morale.” “I really enjoy racing at Bristol,” said McCumbee. “You have to be really patient, yet know when to get really aggressive. It’s just good short track racing.” And a neon smile is waiting to shine as McCumbee, who played the role of Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the ESPN movie “3,” looks for his first truck series victory.
