johnny-sauterIn the practice for his first race in the trio of races this weekend for Kevin Harvick, he ran the fast lap for the first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice. The 27.821 second lap at 129.399mph put Harvick atop the speed charts in his No. 4 Longhorn Chevrolet just in front of his other truck driven by series points leader Ron Hornaday.

Hornaday’s 27.822 second lap at 129.394mph in his No. 33 VFW Chevrolet was slower than his car owner’s lap by just one one-thousandth of a second.

The two Kevin Harvick Inc. trucks were the best of the field during that practice session, running faster than Mike Skinner, Aric Almirola and Matt Crafton who rounded out the top-five during that first practice.

In the second session, Johnny Sauter in his No. 13 Rodney Atkins/Curb Records/ Fun Sand truck took the top spot with a lap time of 27.352 seconds at 131.617mph. Matt Crafton ended the session in 2nd in his No. 88 Australian Gold/ Menards Silverado.kevin-harvick

Hornaday ended the second session in 3rd, followed by Brian Scott and Stacy Compton.

Harvick ended up 10th in the final session for the Camping World Truck Series.

The Lucas Oil 150 is scheduled to broadcast on SPEED at 7:30pm ET tonight.
