Last February, as the NASCAR teams got back into the swing of things at Daytona International Speedway, the first person to make it to Victory Lane during Speedweeks was 18-year-old, now 19-year-old, James Buescher.

The young Texan earned his second career ARCA RE/MAX series victory in the first race of the 2009 season. He then went on to compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series NextEra Energy Resources 250 in the No. 10 International Maxx Force Diesel for Circle Bar Racing a few short days later.

Prior to his NASCAR career, Buescher made a name for himself in many other racing series. He earned the Bandolero Young Guns National championship in 2004 and the ASA Late Model Series South championship two years later while also being voted the series’ most popular driver. In March 2007, he became the youngest race winner in the history of the ARCA RE/MAX series and has since won two more races including the victory at Daytona in February.

2008 was a busy year for young Buescher who competed in ARCA, NASCAR Camping World East, the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series and the USAC Ford Focus Series as well as making six starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series where he accumulated one top-10 finish and one pole.

Buescher went on to compete in the Truck Series full time last year in the No. 10 and he ended up 14th in the final point standings with one top-5 finish and three top-10’s.

Next season, Buescher will pull double-duty running the full Nationwide Series schedule and a part-time Truck Series schedule. He has been named the pilot of Phoenix Racing’s No. 1 Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Chevrolet in Nationwide and he has moved to the No. 31 Chevy Silverado for Turner Motorsports in the Truck Series.

“I’m very excited about my plans for the 2010 season to run in the Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series. Both series provide young drivers a place to learn and compete at the highest level,” Buescher said. “Hopefully next season, I will take both Chevrolets to Victory Lane.”

A very realistic goal for the already incredibly successful young driver.
