mario-gosselinVeteran race car driver Mario Gosselin has made his way up through the stock car ranks beginning with a Pure Stock championship in 1990. At that point, the 19-year-old Gosselin knew what he wanted to do.

He moved to the Late Model division the next year, earned the Rookie of the Year Award in 1992 and was the Hooters Cup Series champion by 1995.

Three years later, Gosselin raced in the Jackaroo Pro Cup Series and the ARCA RE/MAX series where he was the first rookie ever to win the pole and the race in his first event. He also made his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut that year finishing a solid 16th at Myrtle Beach.

After earning the Jackaroo championship in 1997, Gosselin continued with the Hooters ProCup Series for the next few years.

2004 brought Gosselin to the premier NASCAR division, the Sprint Cup Series, for a two race stint at the end of the season while also making starts in the ARCA RE/MAX Series which he ran through 2007.

He made his Camping World Truck Series debut in 2008 running six races throughout the season. Last year, he ran in 15 of the 25 races for the Truck Series with a career best finishing position of 6th in the Mountain Dew 250 fueled by Fred’s at Talladega on Halloween.mario-gosselin

That day was a great one for Gosselin and his No. 12 MyTireMonkey.com Chevy Silverado. The Talladega race was a debut event for the MyTireMonkey.com sponsorship which hopes to keep Gosselin in the Truck Series full time in 2010. On hand to make the day even more special were his two daughters, Megan and Madison, who dressed up like monkeys for Halloween to support their father’s new sponsor.

It has been a long journey for the now 38-year-old Gosselin, but 2010 may finally be the year that he has been waiting for, a chance to run a full NASCAR schedule.
