chad-mccumbeeMulti-talented NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Chad McCumbee was behind the wheel of the No. 07 Valvoline/Tiwi Chevy Silverado for SS Green Light Racing.

The 24-year old began racing 14 years ago in go-karts. After accumulating multiple track championships and almost 100 victories, McCumbee moved to the Allison Legacy Series and earned the Rookie of the Year title in 2001, along with the regional and national championships.

Then, McCumbee tried his hand at Late Model racing at Myrtle Beach Speedway and became the youngest rookie to win a race before moving up yet again, this time to the ARCA RE/MAX Series in 2004 and 2005.

He ran a few ARCA races in 2006 and 2007 but his primary focus was the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In 2006, he earned nine top-15 finishes and in 2007 he made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut for Petty Enterprises.

McCumbee ran six races in NASCAR’s premier series the following year in addition to another full-season of truck racing in which he earned his best career finish to date, a second place finish at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May.

In addition to his skills behind the wheel, McCumbee is also a successful actor. The young driver made his acting debut in 2004 when he played Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the movie 3: The Dale Earnhardt Story.

Whether it is on the track or off, McCumbee has an endless amount of talent and he will be back in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2010 to prove it.
