Benson Gets Ride With Team Gill Racing

johnny-benson2008 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Johnny Benson will be racing again in 2010.

Team Gill Racing has announced that Benson will share the team’s No. 95 Ford F-Series with rookie Lance Fenton this year.

Benson will be behind the wheel for the season opening NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

Fenton’s season will begin a little earlier as he is scheduled to race in the ASA Transcontinental Series event in South Africa on January 31st and then in the ARCA opener on February 6th at Daytona.

After being ousted from his ride with Red Horse Racing last summer due to a lack of sponsorship, Benson was injured in a Supermodified race at Berlin Raceway in Michigan and was unable to find a ride for the end of 2009 once he had recovered.

Benson won six races in 2008 and secured the Series championship by only seven points over Ron Hornaday.
