Sean Murphy In #07 Truck For Daytona
Written by Brandon Hensley
Sunday, 24 January 2010 00:00

sean-murphySean Murphy will drive the #07 SS Green Light Racing entry in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on February 12th, 2010 at the Daytona International Speedway, according to team officials. Murphy has made two previous starts at Daytona in SS Green Light equipment, driving a total of 24 races for the team since 2004.

“I love racing at Daytona and Talladega and the SS Green Light guys are building a new truck to take to Daytona this year," said Murphy. "I looked it over at the shop and it looks real good.”

The Florida native says driving in a restrictor plate race is like a game of cards.

“Plate racing is kind of like playing a game of poker,” he continued. “You never know what hand your going to get dealt or what card is going to come up next.”

Jason Miller will be  the crew chief for Murphy and the #07 team at Daytona.

“I really like Sean, I think he has some potential that has not yet been tapped," said Miller. "I feel my strength is to get that potential out of young drivers. Our goals for Daytona are to get Sean comfortable in the draft and then let him do his job. I think we’re going to have a good race at Daytona.”

“We’ve had a very good relationship with Sean and his family over the last six or seven years," said SS Green Light Racing General Manager Bobby Dotter. "I believe we have stepped-up our program in the last two seasons and we should be able to give Sean his best opportunity for a top finish this year.”
