Schrader Scores Top-10 For KHI

ken-schraderVeteran NASCAR driver Ken Schrader drove the KHI, Inc. No. 2 to a ninth-place finish in the O'Reilly 250 at Kansas Speedway Sunday, his first career start for the team owned by Kevin Harvick.

"I really can't thank Kevin, DeLana and the No. 2 guys enough," said Schrader. "We had a really good truck; I was pleased with all the changes the crew made. I drove a pretty conservative race, just trying to stay out of everyone else's mess. I'm not used to how hard you have to drive these trucks; I forgot how much fun it was. I am really thankful for the opportunity that KHI gave me today; we had a lot of fun and recorded another top-10 finish for the No. 2 and were able to keep the Owner's Points lead. That was our goal."

Schrader had his hands full all day with the No.2 truck being loose from the start. Crew chief Butch Hylton called for the additions of rubber in each rear spring as well as a track-bar adjustment on the first pit stop, during a caution on lap seven.

Schrader restarted 29th and had moved into the top-10 by lap 30. More adjustments were made during a stop on lap 90 with Schrader occupying the sixth spot when the yellow came out on lap 96.

Restarting seventh, Schrader became very loose in the unstable air but maintained a top-10 position until reaching the checkered flag.
