NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and Camping World Truck Series team owner Kyle Busch was the fastest in both Truck practices this afternoon at Dover International Speedway.
In the first session, Busch was faster than the rest of the competition by over 3 mph. His 23.094 second lap at 155.885 mph bested 2nd place David Starr who ran his lap at 152.194 mph. Mike Skinner, Aric Almirola and Johnny Benson rounded out the top-5. 4-time and defending Series champion Ron Hornaday was 6th in the first practice followed by the driver who bested him at Kansas, Johnny Sauter, in 7th.
Busch also dominated the second of the two practices with a 23.097 second lap at 155.864 mph. He was faster than 2nd place Skinner by a full mile per hour. James Buescher, Almirola and Timothy Peters completed the top-5 in that session. Austin Dillon, whose No. 3 Silverado will be sporting a special Dale Earnhardt tribute paint scheme this weekend, was 6th in the second practice. Hornaday dropped to 9th and Sauter ended up 15th. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will qualify for Friday night’s Dover 200 tomorrow morning at 10am ET. SPEED will broadcast the session.
