Ken Schrader will make his second start of the season behind the wheel of the KHI No. 2 NASCAR Truck in the Winstar World Casino 400k Friday at Texas Motor Speedway.
Schrader made his Camping World Series debut at Texas in 2007, recording an eighth place finish. The NASCAR veteran also has 14 starts in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition at the 1.5 mile track located in Fort Worth with a best finish of 10th in 2001. "I like Texas. Like a lot of people, I didn't like it as much when they first built it, but after the changes they've made to it, it has become a really good racetrack," said Schrader. "I've only gotten to run in the Truck Series one time there, and we ran eighth in that race. I'm really looking forward to going back. I like being with the IRL, and I'm looking forward to seeing them run while we're there too."
The Fenton, Missouri native will pilot the same No. 2 that Kevin Harvick drove to victory at Atlanta in March. The KHI chassis No. 042 also competed at Nashville, Kansas and Charlotte in 2010. "Texas is a big, fast track, the fastest non-restrictor plate track, so you've got to handle really well," explained Schrader. "You also have to hope that the yellow flags fall at the right time. The yellows aren't quite as big of a deal in the Truck Series because the races are shorter and fuel mileage doesn't come into play as much, but you still have to hope that the cautions are in your favor."
