4-time and reigning NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday was the fastest in the first practice for the trucks at Michigan International Speedway. Hornaday was the one and only driver to top 178mph during the session with a fast lap of 40.283 seconds.
Richard Childress Racing driver Austin Dillon was the second fastest during the practice in his No. 3 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Silverado with a lap time of 40.482 seconds.
James Buescher was the fastest of the go-or-go-home qualifiers with a third place run just in front of Series points leader Todd Bodine and Matt Crafton in fourth and fifth, respectively. The Truck Series drivers will hit the pavement at Michigan again this afternoon for their final practice session before qualifying for and running the VFW 200 Saturday.
