mike-wallace-wins-talladega-truck-raceWith a push from teammate Ron Hornaday, Jr., Mike Wallace carried the Anderson's Maple Syrup KHI Chevrolet Silverado to victory in Saturday's 250-mile NASCAR Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.

The opportunity came for Wallace to drive the No. 2 when Elliott Sadler decided to stay home with his wife, who is expecting their second child. Harvick made the call to Wallace last Sunday.

"Thank God Elliott Sadler's wife is going to have a baby and gave me this opportunity," said Wallace. "You have no idea how much this means to me. I don't know if there will be another one. I wasn't even going to be here."

Hornaday finished second with polesitter James Buescher third followed by Ricky Carmichael, Jason White, Todd Bodine, Austin Dillon, Brendan Gaughan, Kyle Busch and Max Papis.

Dillon leads Buescher by three points in the 2011 Truck Series championship standings with three races remaining.
