Rookie driver John King emerged from the chaos and carnage of Friday night's season-opening Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway with his first NASCAR win.

"Red Horse Racing is unbelievable," King said in Victory Lane. "I'm a rookie, I'm not supposed to be here."

The race ended under caution on the third attempt of a green-white-checkered finish. King made contact with leader Johnny Sauter on the second attempt with Joey Coulter slamming the wall and lifting off the ground in a spectacular crash on the final restart. Coulter climbed from his wrecked machine and bowed to the crowd.

Prior to the late race incidents Cale Gale crashed out on lap 62 and polesitter Miguel Paludo hit the inside wall hard on lap 84 of the 100-lap race.

King's teammate Timothy Peters finished second giving Red Horse Racing a one-two finish.

Justin Lofton crossed the finish line third followed by Travis Kvapil, Jason White and Todd Bodine.
