Friday, 05 June 2009 04:44

bobby-hamilton-jrAfter a 15th place finish in last weekend’s event at Dover International Speedway to kick off his 2009 season in the Nationwide Series, Bobby Hamilton Jr. has been chosen to take command of the No. 81 MacDonald Motorsports entry this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway.

The Nashville, Tennessee native is thrilled to be racing in front of his hometown crowd especially after a strong run at Dover.

“The guys on this team are all so great and I really enjoy working with them,” Hamilton Jr. said. “To have my first race of the season go as well as it had gives me a lot of confidence that we can go out and better our performance this weekend.”

Hamilton Jr. has made 11 starts in the ‘Music City’ in his career earning a total of three top-5s and six top-10 finishes. His highest finish of second came in 2002.

McLeod Clutches recently jumped on board the No. 81 MacDonald Motorsports team as an associate sponsor. Even though the team has yet to clutch a primary sponsor, the team is pumped up for this weekend and looks to have another strong run.

“All guys in the shop are looking forward to this weekend,” David Ingram, crew chief of the No. 81 stated. “With this being a stand alone race it give us a chance to improve our points position.”

Team owner Randy MacDonald noted, “This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to promote their company this weekend.”
