brian-vickersBrian Vickers took the pole for today's CARFAX 250 Nascar Nationwide Series race, turning the 2 mile Michigan International Speedway at a speed of 184.814 to sweep the pole for both NASCAR events this weekend.

"We really focused on race trim yesterday, and that was the first qualifying lap I made on the track," Vickers said. "Two poles (at Michigan) is very special, but what we really would like to be is in Victory Lane at the end of the race."

Rookie Trevor Bayne missed his second pole of the season, clocking in at 183.885 to capture the second starting spot.

"I'm happy with that time right there," Bayne said after climbing from his Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota. "I got loose off of (turn) four and I had to stay up high, I couldn't bring it to the bottom because it was so sideways."

Kyle Busch will roll of third this afternoon while Jeff Burton and Brad Coleman will round out the top five starters.

David Ragan, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Greg Biffle will start sixth through tenth.

The CARFAX 250 is scheduled to start at 3:30 ET today.
