brian-scottNASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Brian Scott will make his debut with CJM Racing this weekend in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

“I’m really excited about getting an opportunity to drive the No. 11 Ridemakerz Toyota for CJM Racing,” Scott said. “Its going to be a lot of fun. They have built some strong cars and our goal is to qualify well and keep it up front.”

Scott is normally behind the wheel of the No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra. This is Scott’s second full season in the Truck Series and he is currently 4th in points. He got his first win earlier this year at Dover.

This weekend’s race will be Scott’s fifth start in the Nationwide Series and his first in that series at Bristol. So far, his best finish in a Nationwide car came at Phoenix International Raceway where he finished 15th.

Despite having limited experience at Bristol, Scott seems to enjoy the track.

“Bristol is an amazing race track,” he said. “With the history of the track and all the tradition and the incredible support of all the fans it’s a track we drivers look forward to going to. Bristol is not the same old rough and tumble, push them out of the way, single groove race track. It is famous for its rough and rowdy push them out of the way finishes like you had with Dale Earnhardt. Since they did the changes to the track surface, it allows you more side-by-side racing and you have a chance to come from further back and get to the front.”

There are three other Truck Series regulars pulling double-duty by attempting to qualify for the Nationwide Series race including Mike Bliss, Terry Cook and Dennis Setzer.

Meanwhile, there will be 12 Sprint Cup Series drivers trying to make the field as well. Kyle Busch, Reed Sorenson, Ryan Newman, David Ragan, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, David Reutimann, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Paul Menard and David Gilliland will all attempt to qualify in.

The Food City 250 is scheduled to broadcast tonight on ESPN2 at 7:30pm ET.
