Trent Owens, crew chief on the NASCAR Nationwide Series No. 32 Dollar General Toyota for Braun Racing, was fined following the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Owens violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-I (any determination by NASCAR Officials that the race equipment does not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20A-12A (mounting points on the axle housing must be evenly spaced and welded to prevent movement: mounting points were not evenly spaced) of the 2009 NASCAR rule book.
He was fined $5,000 for the violations which were discovered during opening day inspection on August 20th.  During the race on Friday night, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver David Reutimann was behind the wheel of the No. 32. He began the race in 41st and charged through the field to finish 11th. Jacques Villeneuve will be in the drivers seat of the Dollar General Toyota during this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.
