Gonzalez First Puerto Rico Native in Nationwide

victor-gonzalez-jrVictor Gonzalez Jr. will travel to Montreal with the NASCAR Nationwide Series this weekend. He will make history as the first driver from Puerto Rico to compete in the Series.

 

Gonzalez has plenty of road course experience with over 30 wins on multiple courses. He is also an instructor at Skip Barber Racing School.

 

“I am very grateful for this opportunity to represent my country, Puerto Rico, in the Nationwide Series,” Gonzalez said. “The NAPA Auto Parts 200 will have a very talented international field of drivers racing with the Nationwide Series regulars in one of the seasons most prestigious events. I have spent my entire career working toward an opportunity to compete in one of the premiere divisions of NASCAR. It’s going to be a dream come true.”

 

 victor-gonzalez-jrHe will get behind the wheel of the #05 GDSI (Global Dehumidification Solutions, Inc.)/ Ford Racing Fusion.

 

“We are proud to support Victor as he makes his Nationwide Series debut in Montreal,” Bryan Dant, President of GDSI, said. “With our strong customer base in the Caribbean Islands and Canada, our partnership with Victor is a natural fit.”

 

In addition to his racing and instructing responsibilities, Gonzalez is also dedicated to the Racing for Kids Program.
