Marcos Ambrose endured rainy and wet conditions to win the pole for Sunday's NAPA 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. Ambrose qualified his #47 Toyota at a speed of 80.905 to secure the first starting position.

The popular Australian finished third in this event last season and won the Zippo 200 on the road course at Watkins Glen earlier this month.

Carl Edwards will start second after recording a speed of 80.116 to place the #60 Roush Fenway Ford on the front row.

Canadian Ron Fellows, who drove the #5 Chevrolet to victory last year at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in the first ever NASCAR points race conducted in the rain, qualified third.carl-edwards

Boris Said and Brad Coleman rounded out the top five qualifiers.

Jacques Villeneuve, Justin Marks, Antonio Perez, Andrew Ranger and Paul Menard will start sixth through tenth.

Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow with the NAPA 200 scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm ET.
