brian-vickersThe Degree V12 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway set for this Saturday, September 5, 2009, promises to be an exciting event for hardcore race fans.

With at least 10 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers expected to compete in the first ever race under the lights at Atlanta, competitors will be on an even field when it comes to set ups, tire temperatures and preferred lines.

Greg Biffle, Jeff Burton, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Joey Logano, David Ragan and Brian Vickers are among the Cup Series drivers who have plans to race in both Atlanta night races this weekend.

Cup Series regulars will be looking for information to help their efforts in the Pep Boys 500 on Sunday night and will also be dealing with the distinct differences between the Nationwide and Cup cars.

"The sensation of speed - it feels pretty fast in both," said Brian Vickers, who finished fifth in March's Kobalt Tools 500 Sprint Cup Series race. "With the Nationwide car, obviously you carry more speed through the corner, not quite as much down the straightaway. You probably feel a little bit faster in the Nationwide car through the corner of course, but the entry speed in the Cup car is quite a bit more."

The Degree V12 300 is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, and will feature a 195-lap format.
