Leffler Fastest In Single Nationwide Practice

jason-lefflerThe NASCAR Nationwide Series was given only one practice session before qualifying at Richmond International Raceway for the Virginia 529 College Savings 250.

 

Jason Leffler topped the charts in his No. 38 Great Clips/Comcast Toyota. Leffler ran a fast lap of 21.618 seconds at a speed of 124.896mph.

 

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. managed 2nd and 3rd place in the session with laps of 21.638 and 21.655 seconds, respectively.

 

Other Sprint Cup drivers Kevin Harvick, Scott Speed, David Reutimann, Clint Bowyer and Carl Edwards also made it into the top-10 while Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle finished 12th and 13th. denny-hamlin

 

There are 16 cars that will have to qualify on time to make the event during qualifying, which is scheduled for 4pm ET today, including Paul Menard, Travis Kvapil, Casey Atwood, Derrike Cope and Travis Kittleson.

 

The fastest go-or-go-homer in practice was Scott Wimmer in the No. 5 Fastenal Chevrolet who finished 14th.

 

The Virginia 529 College Savings 250 is scheduled to broadcast on ESPN2 at 7pm ET tonight.
