Joe Gibbs Racing Teammates Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch will bring the field to the green flag in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Virginia 529 College Savings 250.

Hamlin took the pole with a 21.707 second lap.

Busch currently holds the qualifying record for the Nationwide Series at Richmond which he set back in 2004, but he was only second best in qualifying today with a lap time of 21.748 seconds.

Paul Menard was the fastest of the go-or-go-home drivers. He qualified third for tonight’s race with a lap of 21.790 seconds.

Clint Bowyer and Brad Keselowski qualified 4th and 5th. Martin Truex Jr., Mark Green, Scott Speed, Trevor Bayne and Greg Biffle complete the top-10.

There were 17 drivers who had to qualify in and of those 17, Derrike Cope, Casey Atwood, Morgan Shepherd and Chris Lawson failed to make the field.

The Virginia 529 College Savings 250 is scheduled to broadcast on ESPN2 tonight at 7pm ET.
