Key Motorsports Nabs Bliss For Kansas
Monday, 28 September 2009 13:53

key-motorsportsKey Motorsports officials confirmed today that Mike Bliss, who currently sits 8th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings, will drive the No. 40 StopRepairBills.com Chevrolet in this weekend's Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway.

Bliss was released from his full-time ride with James Finch’s Phoenix Racing team in early August. The team’s General Manager, Marc Reno, reportedly said that Bliss was released because he did not win enough.

Prior to his release, Bliss had taken the checkers in the CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May. He has also accumulated 5 top-5 finishes and 11 top-10’s in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this year.

After losing the Phoenix Racing ride, Bliss has been car hopping in an attempt to stay in the top-10 in the point standings. He has dropped from 6th to 9th and then rebounded during his past weekend’s race in Dover to his current position of 8th in the standings.

Scott Wimmer, who consistently pilots this Key Motorsports ride, is slated to get behind the wheel of the No. 5 Fastenal Chevy for JR Motorsports this weekend.  Wimmer is currently 16th in series points.

It is unclear whether Bliss will drive the No. 40 in any other races this season.
