Parker Kligerman is set to make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at Kansas Speedway this weekend, shoeing the Penske No. 22 dodge.
Kligerman has established himself as a rising talent, leading the ARCA Re/Max Series with seven wins and currently sits second in the standings with two races left on the schedule.
“I am very excited to get my first opportunity to race at the NACAR level with the Penske Racing Nationwide Series team,” said Kligerman. “It’s definitely going to be a challenge, but I know the team will give me a great car. Penske Racing has a lot of experience, and this will definitely help us as we prepare to go to the next level.” “When Penske Racing brought Parker on board last season, we felt he had a bright future in NASCAR, and he has continued to improve and mature as a driver,” Penske Racing President Tim Cindric said. “He has done a great job this year as he has shown that he can run at the front any type of track while being consistent enough to challenge for the ARCA Series championship.” “Parker has earned the opportunity to show what he can do at the next level, and we’re looking forward to competing with him in the Nationwide Series this season, and it should prepare him to take advantage of further opportunities in 2010, “ Cindric explained. Parker will also drive in the season finale race at Homestead this year paired with Chris Carrier serving as Parker’s crew chief in both events. MORE NASCAR NEWS
