Kyle Busch won the Dollar General 300 at Lowes Motor Speedway Friday night in dominating fashion, picking up his seventh NASCAR Nationwide trophy of the year and extending his lead over Carl Edwards in the Nationwide Series point standings.
“This thing was on a rail tonight, it was a great racecar,” Kyle Busch said in Victory Lane.
Mike Bliss, winner of the Carquest 300 Nationwide race in May at the Lowes Motor Speedway, finished second in the #11 Toyota to record his 12th top-10 of 2009.
“It means a lot to me, it feels really good, I love Charlotte, I love this racetrack,” Bliss said. “I felt really good from the moment we parked the trailer. I’m excited about that finish. I think he (Busch) just dominated the race, we knew he was the car to beat.” Busch led 137 of the 200 lap race and leaves Charlotte with a 195 point advantage in the battle for the point championship. Dave Blaney finished third, Brian Vickers fourth and pole winner Carl Edwards fifth. Brad Keselowski, who started 29th, finished sixth. The NASCAR Nationwide Series next stop is Memphis Motorsports Park on Saturday, October 24. MORE NASCAR NEWS
