Toyota Claims Second Nationwide Manufacturer Title

kyle-buschIn only its third year of competition in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Toyota has secured its second manufacturer’s championship.

 

Kyle Busch’s second place finish in last weekend’s Kroger on Track for the Cure 250 at Memphis Motorsports park clinched the title for Toyota.

 

The championship is the second consecutive for the manufacturer in the Nationwide Series and it has also earned three championships in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

“Toyota’s accomplishments are the result of hard work and achievement by all of our race teams working in conjunction with TRD, U.S.A. (Toyota Racing Development),” Lee White, TRD’s president and general manager, said. “All the tireless efforts during the off-season and throughout the season, in combination with a talented driver line-up, have produced the exceptional results that yielded this championship.”

 

Toyota is the manufacturer for six full-time Nationwide Series teams that field a total of eight cars, including Busch’s Joe Gibbs Racing Camry.

 

“It is an honor to be such a big part of Toyota’s second manufacturer’s title in the Nationwide Series,” Busch said. “Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota have formed a great partnership and it shows through the success of our Nationwide Series program.”

 

Since joining the series in 2007, Toyota driver have won 35 races and 30 poles
