David Ragan set the fast time in the first NASCAR Nationwide Series practice session at Texas Motor Speedway. His No. 6 Discount Tire Ford made a fast lap of 29.284 seconds at 184.401mph.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular Kevin Harvick was second in the practice session in his No. 33 Jimmy John’s Chevrolet followed by Jason Leffler in the No. 38 Great Clips Toyota.
 Carl Edwards, who is second in Nationwide Series points, and points leader Kyle Busch ended the session 4th and 5th, respectively. Jeff Burton, Mike Bliss, Johnny Chapman, Terry Cook and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top-10. The Nationwide Series will qualify later today for tomorrow’s O’Reilly Challenge. MORE NASCAR NEWS
