Cup Stars Dominate Nationwide Qualifying

matt-kensethNASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars, Matt Kenseth and David Ragan, earned the top-two spots in NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying at Texas Motor Speedway.

 

With a lap time of 28.846 seconds at 187.201mph, Kenseth beat Ragan’s fast lap of 28.947 seconds at 186.548mph.

 

Nationwide veteran Jason Leffler will start 3rd in Saturday’s O’Reilly Challenge, in front of Cup drivers Kasey Kahne, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch who will begin the race 4th, 5th, and 6th, respectively.david-ragan

 

Brad Keselowski, a Nationwide driver who will move to his full-time Cup Series ride this weekend, earned the 7th starting position.

 

Chase for the Sprint Cup contenders Carl Edwards and Brian Vickers qualified 8th and 9th, respectively, followed by Nationwide regular Mike Bliss in 10th.

 

Casey Mears and Joey Logano, also full-time Cup drivers, qualified 14th and 21st for Saturday’s Nationwide Series event.
