After taking the checkers in last night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway, Kyle Busch got the victory in today’s NASCAR Nationwide Series O’Reilly Challenge.
If this winning streak continues and Kyle Busch wins tomorrow’s Sprint Cup Series Dickies 500 he will make NASCAR history; no one has ever won a race in all three of NASCAR’s top divisions in the same weekend. “The track’s fun, I mean its fun when you have good cars of course,” Busch said in Victory Lane. “If the things fall the right way we can do it (win the Cup race tomorrow).”
This win was the 29th for Busch in the Nationwide Series and it was the fourth in a row for him in that series at Texas Motor Speedway. He dominated the event, leading all but 21 laps and at times having over a three second lead on second place. Casey Mears finished second to Busch in the race followed by Nationwide Series veteran Jason Leffler. Matt Kenseth finished 4th in front of Brad Keselowski. Cup drivers Kevin Harvick, Brian Vickers, David Ragan, and Carl Edwards, followed by Mike Bliss rounded out the top-10. The victory puts Busch 272 points ahead of Edwards in the series point standings. Keselowski is putting pressure on Edwards for that second spot and is now only 20 points away. MORE NASCAR NEWS
