Scott Wimmer is looking forward to the Able Body Labor 200 this Saturday at the Phoenix International Raceway, a track where he visited Victory Lane in 2002. Wimmer has two top-five and four top-10 finishes in his seven NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Phoenix.
“I’m looking forward to a good run in the #40 StopRepairBills.com Chevrolet at Phoenix this weekend.” Wimmer said. “We have had some good, strong runs in the past few races and I am looking forward to bringing that energy to Phoenix.”
Wimmer qualified the Key Motorsports Chevrolet on the outside pole at Memphis and finished seventh in the Kroger On Track For The Cure 250 before posting a 14th place finish at Texas last weekend. Crew chief Gary Showalter is equally as excited to return to PIR. Earlier this year the team earned a top-20 finish there and Showalter hopes to improve on that this weekend. “I am looking forward to Phoenix,” Showalter said. “We have been working extremely hard all season and it is beginning to pay off here lately. This Key Motorsports crew certainly has all the right ingredients to really make something happen this weekend.” Quality Inn and Suites in Surprise, Arizona will host an autograph session Thursday evening featuring Scott Wimmer in the hotel’s main lobby. Wimmer will be on hand to meet with hardcore race fans and sign autographs from 5 pm - 7 pm PT tonight. The Quality Inn and Suites is located at 16741 North Greasewood Street in Surprise, Arizona 85374. MORE NASCAR NEWS
