Bliss Second Quick In Nationwide Practice

mike-blissSeveral NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars will pull double-duty and run in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Able Body Labor 200 at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend.

 

Carl Edwards, who is second in the series point standings and is also a Chase for the Sprint Cup contender, was the fastest in the first of two practices for the Nationwide Series prior to their qualifying effort tomorrow morning.

 

Mike Bliss was the top Nationwide regular in this first practice session and he ended up 2nd in his No. 11 Ridemakerz.com Toyota with a fast lap of 27.540 seconds at 130.719mph.

 

Cup regular Denny Hamlin ended up third in the session followed by Justin Allgaier in his No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge.

Matt Kenseth rounded out the top-5.

 

Sprint Cup drivers dominated the second half of the top-10 with Kyle Busch ending the session in 6th, David Ragan finishing 7th and Kevin Harvick and Paul Menard ending up 8th and 9th, respectively.

 

Nationwide Series regular Steve Wallace completed the top-10 in his No. 66 USfidelis Chevrolet.

 

Other Sprint Cup drivers who will be pulling double-duty are Clint Bowyer, David Reutimann, Brad Keselowski, and Reed Sorenson; all four ended this first practice session in the top-16.

 

The second practice session for the Nationwide Series will be later today at 3:30pm ET and will be broadcast on SPEED.
