Written by Kyle Davis

toyotaToyota hit it big in the NASCAR Nationwide Series during the 2009 season, scoring 15 victories and 68-top fives to earn their second consecutive Nationwide Series manufacturer’s title.

Kyle Busch, the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion, had a record setting season, leading 2,698 laps, and contributing nine wins to Toyota’s total, the most in Nationwide history ever in a single season.  Busch is also the only driver to score ten top-two finishes in a row.

Kyle’s teammate, Joey Logano, had five victories in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series.

Marcus Ambrose tallied a win for Toyota on the road course at Watkins Glen.

In 2009 Toyota accounted for 43% of NASCAR Nationwide Series victories, and 37% of the pole awards after only three years of being known as one of NASCAR’s 4-manufacturers.
