Tyler Young is full of enthusiasm for racing. After spending just a few minutes with him, it's easy to see his passion for driving race cars.
The Midland, Texas teenager has spent the past several years racing everything from go-karts to the USAR Pro Cup Series, always preparing for the next step up the ladder. In 2010, Tyler Young is committed to a full season in the NASCAR Camping World East Series. Young started out his career racing karts with the International Karting Federation, scoring the 2004 IKF championship before moving up to the Hobby Stock division at local tracks in Abilene and Midland, Texas. The 19 year old went on to win the IMCA Sport Modified Championship at Champion Motor Speedway in Midland, Texas in 2007 and competed on the USAR Pro Cup Series circuit in 2008 and 2009.
While racing is a family affair for the Young's, Tyler can be found on any given day working hard at the shop in Mooresville, North Carolina. "We opened the shop here in Mooresville last June and we have been working on building for next year since then," Tyler explained. "My dad is a big part of my racing career, he has had some health problems so we took some time out from going to the track this year to concentrate on him getting better and to prepare for 2010." With dad receiving a liver transplant in October and recovering well, Tyler is looking forward to driving the the #02 Randco Industries Chevrolet full time next year in the Camping World East Series. "I have so much to be thankful for," said Tyler. "My dad is doing much better now and I want to thank God for his recovery and that he is here with us. I am thankful that we will all be together and that we have the opportunity to run the full Camping World East schedule in 2010." MORE NASCAR NEWS
