Kevin Harvick led the most laps including the most important, the final lap, in today’s NASCAR Nationwide Series Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
As rain threatened throughout the event and even caused a short caution period, Harvick led the way to victory in his No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. Fellow Sprint Cup Series drivers took the majority of the top spots at the finish with Denny Hamlin finishing 2nd followed by Carl Edwards, Brad Keselowski and Brian Vickers completing the top-5.
Nationwide rookie Trevor Bayne was the highest finishing Series regular in the 6th position just in front of Justin Allgaier. Paul Menard, Greg Biffle and Steve Wallace rounded out the top-10. 2009 Nationwide Series champion and Las Vegas native Kyle Busch was up front for a large portion of the event but began falling back as the laps wound down. He ended up a disappointing 16th. Danica Patrick tangled with Michael McDowell early in the event and finished 36th. The series now has nearly a month break before they take on the high-banked bowl of Bristol Motor Speedway on March 20th. MORE NASCAR NEWS
