After laying down a 27.494 second lap at 130.938 mph, Carl Edwards took the top spot in NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying from fellow Sprint Cup Series competitor Kyle Busch. The two drivers finished the 2009 season in first and second, but Busch was on top.
Cup regulars took the top 6 spots in the session with Brad Keselowski ending up 3rd, and Greg Biffle, Paul Menard and Joey Logano in 4th, 5th, and 6th, respectively.
Justin Allgaier ended the Cup domination with a 7th place qualifying run, followed by Nationwide Series rookie Colin Braun and Series regular Scott Lagasse, Jr in 8th and 9th. Cup driver Kevin Harvick rounded out the top-10. R icky Stenhouse, Jr., Braun's Roush Fenway Racing teammate, was the second highest rookie in qualifying with his 14th place run. Mark Green was the only driver who failed to qualify for tonight's event. The NASCAR Nationwide Series Bashas' Supermarkets 200 is scheduled to broadcast on ESPN2 beginning at 9pm ET tonight.
