Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has plans to drive a No. 3 JR Motorsports prepared Chevrolet sponsored by Wrangler in the Subway Jalepeno 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Raceway on July 2, 2010, according to FOXSports.com.
FOXSports.com reports that Dale, Jr. will revive his father's famous 3 in a joint effort with Richard Childress Racing and Dale Earnhardt, Inc. The No. 3 Nationwide effort will reportedly be powered by a Hendrick Motorsports engine.
An official announcement is expected to be made during a press conference scheduled for April 29, Dale Earnhardt, Sr.'s birthday. Wrangler began sponsoring Earnhardt, Sr. late in the 1980 season, remaining with Earnhardt as he went from Rod Osterlund Racing to Richard Childress Racing and then on to Bud Moore's Ford. Earnhardt and Wrangler went back to RCR in 1984 and remained together until the end of the 1987 season. Goodwrench became the primary sponsor of the RCR Chevrolet in 1988. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has a personal services contract with Wrangler and has appeared in many race themed commercials in the past several years promoting the Wrangler brand. MORE NASCAR NEWS
