The No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet driven by Kevin Harvick sits on the pole for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway after Harvick laid down a 51.106 second lap which was nearly 2 mph faster than the second place driver Carl Edwards. Edwards’, meanwhile, drove a 51.552 second lap.
Nationwide Series rookie Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. drove his No. 6 CitiFinancial Ford for Roush Fenway Racing to a 3rd place starting position followed by JR Motorsports driver Steve Arpin in 4th and Shelby Howard in the No. 70 Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet in 5th. Reed Sorenson qualified 6th for Saturday’s race with Jason Leffler, Paul Menard, rookie Parker Kligerman and Brian Keselowski completing the top-10.
Other notable rookies, James Buescher and Colin Braun qualified 11th and 12th, respectively, with Brian Scott ending up 18th. The NASCAR Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 is scheduled to broadcast on ABC at 2:30pm ET Saturday. MORE NASCAR NEWS
