After three ‘big ones’, Brad Keselowski took the checkers in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway following the Sprint Cup Series race earlier in the day.
The first ‘big one’ came early in the event when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. sent Carl Edwards spinning into traffic. The second came with four laps to go when Steve Arpin sent Colin Braun spinning into traffic and the third shortly after the restart from the second when Jamie McMurray got loose as he was fighting for the win. Dennis Setzer ended up in the catch fence on that one but managed to escape the burning race car under his own power.
Kevin Harvick was leading the field on the final restart looking to make history by winning both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide races on the same day but McMurray gave him a good run for his money and Keselowski then went three wide and challenged on the outside just before McMurray fell back and went spinning. Keselowski got the advantage as the chaos ensued behind him and he went to victory lane at Talladega. He earned his first Cup win at the same track nearly one year ago. “Green white checkered at Talladega are crazy,” Keselowski said in Victory Lane. “It’s an awesome feeling to be here at Talladega, this track means a lot to me.” Joey Logano came out of nowhere and earned the 2nd finishing position followed by Harvick, Jason Keller and Johnny Borneman III. Clint Bowyer, Tony Raines, Paul Menard, Brian Vickers and Scott Wimmer rounded out the top-10. Keselowski has now taken the series points lead and now NASCAR’s number two series heads to Richmond for a night race on Friday. AARON'S 312 RACE RESULTS MORE NASCAR NEWS
