Following the rain postponed NASCAR Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday, the sanctioning body confiscated the left-front spring and right-front shock on Brad Keselowski’s race winning No. 22
The items were reported to be under the minimum spring rate and NASCAR has been evaluating them at the R&D Center.A decision and possible penalties are expected Tuesday. Keselowski won the Nationwide race after inhaling large amounts of carbon monoxide and also wrecking his Cup car during the Aaron’s 499 earlier Sunday afternoon. Following that incident, he was taken to the infield care center where his carbon monoxide levels measured well nearly three times above the allowable limit.
Keselowski was able to strap into his Nationwide ride just moments before the start of the race thanks to oxygen treatments which finally brought his carbon monoxide levels under NASCAR’s allowable limit of 5. They were originally at 13. A wild weekend for Keselowski left him with the Nationwide points lead but, depending on NASCAR’s determination on Tuesday his lead over Kevin Harvick by 60 points could potentially be reduced.
