Back To Back Wins For Bad Brad Keselowski
Friday, 30 April 2010 21:06

brad-keselowskiWith an average finishing position of 4th so far this year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Brad Keselowski is sitting pretty in his plan to win the Nationwide championship this season.

Keselowski won last weekend at Talladega but received a 50-point deduction after two parts from the car were confiscated by NASCAR and deemed to be outside of the rule book. Despite last weekend’s controversy, Keselowski bounced back for two-in-a-row with a win at Richmond International Raceway.

“Our car was just so strong today,” Keselowski said in Victory lane. “It was a great race today, really hope the fans enjoyed it and I want to thank them for coming out.”

It was certainly an exciting race for the fans especially in the closing laps. When Paul Menard brought out a late race caution after blowing a right front tire the leaders came in for quick pit stops anticipating a couple green-white-checkered attempts.

Keselowski lost the lead when he came to pit road for tires but managed to work his way back up on the restart. Greg Biffle came out of nowhere and lead the second to last lap but did not keep it long.

“I just couldn’t hold him off on that last lap,” Biffle said after the race. “I did all I could do to hold him off and I’m just so happy for this team.”kyle-busch

Kyle Busch was also mixing it up late in the race after running in the Short Track Showdown benefiting the Denny Hamlin Foundation last night at Southside Speedway.

“We didn’t have the car tonight,” he said. “We just didn’t have anything for the 22 tonight, he was just stellar.”

Busch finished a disappointing 23rd in last night’s Showdown which C.E. Falk won over NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Tony Stewart.

Biffle ended up 2nd in the Nationwide event followed by Jamie McMurray, Busch and Carl Edwards. Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Reed Sorenson, Brendan Gaughn and Matt Kenseth rounded out the top-10.

Next week the NASCAR Nationwide Series will take on the track too tough to tame. The Royal Purple 200 presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts at Darlington Speedway is scheduled to broadcast on ESPN2 at 7pm ET Friday night.
