NASCAR has rendered their decision regarding Saturday night's Nationwide Series race at Gateway International Raceway, penalizing both Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski for the last-lap incident that destroyed several cars.
Edwards has been docked 60 NASCAR Nationwide Series driver points, fined $25000 and placed on probation by the sanctioning body until December 31, 2010.
Nationwide Series points leader Keselowski has been placed on probation until December 31, 2010. According to NASCAR, the penalties are a result of violation of section 12-1 of the rule book, actions detrimental to stock car racing/aggressive driving.
