roush-nationwide-carRoad course driver Billy Johnson will drive the No. 6 Ford in his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at Watkins Glen International this weekend.

Johnson co-drives the No. 61 Roush Ford Mustang in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, collecting one win and three top-fives in sports car competition at the 2.45-mile road course in New York.

The 23-year-old California native recently tested the Roush Fenway Nationwide car at Road Atlanta.

“I hope that with the road course experience I have and with the great equipment at Roush Fenway Racing that we will have something big to talk about this weekend,” said Johnson. “I know the CitiFinancial Ford will be fast and my main goal is to keep it out of harms way and get a good finish for the team.  There is a lot of talent in the race but I am confident about the experience I have at Watkins Glen and think we have all the tools to run up front.  I can’t wait to get on track.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is scheduled to return to the No. 6 Ford at Michigan next weekend.
