Boris Said claimed his first career NASCAR victory Sunday afternoon, winning the NAPA 200 Nationwide race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve by inches over Max Papis.
"It's unbelieveable," an elated Said offered in Victory Lane. "I've been trying so long and this race is so tough. It was just awesome."
Robby Gordon had the race lead on the final restart but ran out of gas, setting up a last lap battle between Said and Papis on the green-white-checkered finish. Papis passed Said briefly with the two drag racing to the checkered flag in a photo finish. Jacques Villeneuve finished third, followed by Brad Keselowski and Paul Menard. Carl Edwards and Marcos Ambrose led much of the event before both drivers retiring to the garage area with mechanical problems. MORE NASCAR NEWS
