Brad Keselowski's decision to stay out on old tires gave him the track position he needed to score his fifth NASCAR Nationwide Series victory of the season, pulling away from the field on the final restart to win the Dollar General 300 Friday night at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Keselowski has won two of the four Nationwide COT events this season, Charlotte marks the last time the new car will be used in 2010 before becoming mandatory for the 2011 schedule. Martin Truex Jr. finished second, followed by Justin Allgaier, Joey Logano and Clint Bowyer. Danica Patrick enjoyed her best finish to date in Nationwide Series competition, posted 21st in the final rundown. Brad Keselowski extended his lead in the 2010 Nationwide point standings to 450 markers over Carl Edwards, who finished 13th in the Dollar General 300. MORE NASCAR NEWS
