Supercross and motocross champion Travis Pastrana unveiled the No. 99 Pastrana-Waltrip Racing Toyota Friday night in downtown Los Angeles, California, revealing Boost Mobile as the sponsor of his 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series ride.
Pastrana is scheduled to compete in seven Nationwide events this season; ORP, Richmond, Dover, Kansas, Texas, Phoenix and Homestead. The X Games gold medalist is expected to enter as many as 20 Nationwide races in 2012. Michael Waltrip Racing, Gary and Blake Bechtel and Pastrana announced the formation of Pastrana-Waltrip Racing in November 2010. "To announce this partnership in November and have a sponsor this soon is really gratifying, and we certainly appreciate Boost's support," Pastrana said. "Having worked with Boost in the past and knowing what an innovative brand it is, I am excited to see what we can do together this year. To see this many people here tonight is quite a testament to the interest everyone has in what we plan to do in NASCAR. I'm ready to get started. We've tested, but nothing compares to racing and I'm really looking forward to that!" The Boost Mobile announcement was made during a launch party at LA Live attended by 500 fans and media.
