morgan-shepherdVeteran NASCAR driver Morgan Shepherd has decided to make a donation to the Salvation Army by displaying the organizations ‘Doing The Most Good’ logo on the hood of his No. 89 Chevrolet in the 300-mile Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway on February 19th.

"This is a real honor to represent The Salvation Army," said Shepherd. "The economy is tough right now. We're a small race team without a major sponsor and it's extremely difficult, but at least we have food, clothing, and a roof over our head. There are millions in our country right now who have lost their jobs, their homes, and their spirit. The demand is very high and we thought we could take our ministry on wheels to a higher level and assist The Salvation Army when they need it the most."

Shepherd, who turns 70 in October, has enjoyed a long and successful NASCAR career and is always working to help others in need.

"I've been blessed in so many ways over my career and this is a way of giving back in honor of our fans and supporters," Shepherd continued. "We'll do the best we can to promote The Salvation Army and educate people on what The Salvation Army really does to assist the poor and the hungry. We don't have much but what we have, we can donate to The Salvation Army.”
